Gateways

Revised 11/13/07

The energy of the body is self-organizing. It knows exactly where it wants to go. You manipulate energy at the foot that has an affinity for the chest, and it will go there instantaneously. How it gets there so fast is a question for Houdini. Suffice it to say, it gets there, and how!

Gateways are organs of the body that have energetic affinities with specific energetic boxes of the body. When you manipulate the energy inside of a gateway, it is exactly the same as manipulating the local energetic box controlled by the gateway.

There are twelve gateways, one for each organ:

  • Kidney organs, N.-35° V.0° (KD(KD)), are the gateway to the box from the hips to the feet.

  • Spleen organ at the bottom of the left side ribs, N.-10° V.0° (SP(KD)), is the gateway to the abdomen from the hip line to the ribs.

  • Heart organ, N.+35° V.0° (HT(KD)), is the gateway to the chest up to the armpit level. There are two heart organs in Fu Xi Wen, one on either side of the mid-line going half-way to the nipples. There is only one cardiac organ, but the energy divides itself into two sections.

  • Lung organs, N.-20° V.0° (LU(KD)), are the gateways to the armpit level to level with a line in between the jaws in the front of the neck.

  • Pericardium organ of the chest, N.+10° V.0° (PC(KD)), is the gateway from the top of the shoulder following along the sides of the neck (ending level with a line in between the jaws).

  • Gallbladder organ at the bottom of the right side ribs (along a line between the right nipple and the bellybutton), W.-20° V.0° (GB(KD)), is the gateway to the back of the neck from the armpit line to level with a line between the jaws.

  • Liver organ at the bottom of the right ribs, N.+20° V.0° (LV(KD)), is the gateway to the face and head. There are two liver organs in Fu Xi Wen, one is found in the front of the body on the right side and one is found in the back of the body on the right side.

  • Small Intestine organ, W.-35° V.0° (SI(KD)), is the gateway to the top of the head above the eyebrows.

  • Large Intestine organ, W.+20° V.0° (LI(KD)), is the gateway to the feet below the ankles.

  • Stomach organ, W.+10° V.0° (ST(KD)), is the gateway to the energy that floats beneath the feet.

  • Bladder organ, W.+35° V.0° (BL(KD)), is the gateway to the energy that floats above the head.

  • Triple Warmer, the aorta of the chest, W.-10° V.0° (TW(KD)), is a master gateway of the entire body. This reflects a higher level system that contains the other systems as units.

Gatways “control” things in that they allow you to treat any tissue-angle in the controlled area. So, if you wanted to treat neck pain with a gateway, you hold a primary teishin above the lung organ in the direction of the lung organ and then treat the T° corresponding to the tendons, ligaments, and/or muscles.

In other words, to treat a gateway, you point the primary teishin at the gateway organ in its local vicinity and treat the imbalanced tissue above the primary teishin as if you were then treating a problem in the controlled energetic box. In the above example, the pain is in the neck. The neck is in the energetic box controlled by the lungs. Treating the neck pain through the lungs is the same as treating the neck locally.

The six Yang gateways also control the Chinese meridian channels in the gateway regions. To treat a meridian, you point a primary teishin at the Yang gateway tissue-angle and then point a teishin at the horary angle (described below).

  • Bladder organ, W.+35° V.0° (BL(KD)), is the gateway to the meridians of the legs up to the hips.

  • Stomach organ, W.+10° V.0° (ST(KD)), is the gateway to the meridians of the abdomen and low back.

  • Small intestine organ, W.-35° V.0° (SI(KD)), is the gateway to the meridians of the chest up to the armpits.

  • Large intestine organ, W.+20° V.0° (LI(KD)), is the gateway to the meridians of the neck from armpits to lower jaw.

  • Gallbladder organ, W.-20° V.0° (GB(KD)), is the gateway to the meridians of the face and head.

  • Triple Warmer, W.-10° V.0° (TW(KD)), is the gateway to the entire length of the meridians as they alternate anterior and posterior along the body segments.

Gateways are extremely powerful – more powerful perhaps than any other form of treatment. They hold a lot of compact energy in a small space and therefore small treatments have huge effects. Also, the energy in physical organs is unlike the energy in the lines of force in that the energy in organs is not in a constant state of motion and commotion. This means that the same amount of treatment as you would do in a line of force actually has a larger impact on the energy when done through a gateway.

Gateways are system level tools. Every tissue unit within a controlled area falls within the gateway. So, balancing a gateway, the primary teishin angled in the organ direction, has a sub-system-wide effect on all of its controlled units.

Yang gateways have a strong affinity with the meridians. You can easily feel the energy move in a meridian by adding energy to the gateway in the horary angle for the corresponding meridian. Horary means the treatment tool is simultaneously in the Compass and Vertical angles that have a Five Element affinity for the meridian. These horary angles are:

This is another form of remote treatment. Unlike the previous form of remote treatment, you do not need to understand meridian theory to employ it.
