Five Element Emotions

Five Element Emotions

As emphasized in the chapter “Introduction To Fu Xi Wen”, in order to utilize Fu Xi Wen, we need to be able to feel our emotions at will. The entire Emoteishin language depends on our physiological experience of our emotions. It is important to practice this skill regularly. The stronger the emotional charge, the better the impact Emoteishin will have on the diseased tissues.

Two parts of Emoteishin speech depend on our emotions: the Five Element Emotions and the Emo-Tissue. The Emo-Tissue, as you will read in the next chapter, is simply a combination of two Five Element Emotions that define a Fu Xi Wen tissue-angle. Before we invoke a tissue-angle, we need to generate the emotional charge to send to it. This emotional charge is akin to our Fu Xi Wen treatment tools. The Emo-Tissue, in contrast, is akin to the angle at which our treatment tool is directed.

Five Element Emotions

There are five basic emotions that relate to the Five Elements and then two more basic emotions that are combinations of Fire and Water.

Fire

Love

Earth

Trust/Rhythms/Nurturing

Metal

Integrity/Protection/Fortification

Water

Confidence/structure

Wood

Growth/Action/Change

Pericardium

Safety/Faith

While love and trust make sense as emotions, “integrity” and “growth” are strange emotions that need some explanation. Growth is the feeling of changing, reaching, transforming. You have to feel it the way you feel it, but the way I imagine it is imagining myself stretching or running. Integrity can be imagined as a firm boundary or a feeling of protection.

These are the five Yin emotions that manifest around the lower abdomen or that can be used to generate the Five Elements. There are also five Yang emotions that manifest in the upper abdomen below the zyphoid process of the sternum which I do not personally use to generate the Five Elements (though theoretically it is possible to use them in that way). They are:

Fire

Unconditional love

Earth

Power/Responsibility

Metal

Expectations/Deserving/Judgment

Water

Willpower

Wood

Deciding/Strategizing/Transforming

Triple Warmer

Truth/honesty
